Dr. Lawrie Zion of Melbourne’s La Trobe University (a Missouri School of Journalism Exchange Partner) will be on the University of Missouri campus Monday, April 9, 2012 to speak about his magazine, Upstart, an online magazine published by La Trobe University for emerging journalists and edited by journalism students.
The event will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday April 9, 2012 in Tucker Forum (85 Gannett Hall).

Hey everyone,
I'm really keen to meet up for what I hope will be part information session, part informal discussion. At La Trobe University we're very much enjoying association with Mizzou and I guess what I'm keen to do is explore some of the things we might be able to do to enhance the exchange process for those of you who might be considering a semester abroad in Australia. One unit that's proving popular with our international students in Online Editing and Publishing, where you get academic credit for being on the editorial team for Upstart (www.upstart.net.au). I'm also curious to hear your views about the kinds of experiences you're seeking when considering studying abroad, including internship placements. We also have some new subjects, including units from our Sport Journalism degree that might be of interest as electives.
