The Missouri London Program, one of our most popular options for the last five years, is an established opportunity for ambitious journalists to gain experience working an intensive internship in a high-caliber newsroom or organization in the British capital.

Walking past the reconstructed Globe Theatre and following the path along the river Thames leads you beyond the world-famous Tate Modern Museum and finally under the enormous London Eye. The river brings you into a crowd of souvenir peddlers, anxious to sell you miniature Big Bens and bags of roasted almonds. Once across the bridge, you’ll bear witness to the historic and still active Houses of Parliament, the towering Big Ben, and finally Westminster Abbey. All these sites are visible within an hour walk.
If walking the streets of London isn’t your style, every location of interest, from Baker Street to Royal Albert Hall, is tied together by one of the oldest and most effective underground transportation systems in the world: the London Tube. Visitors can explore all that London has to offer easily, safely, and at their own pace.
Once you've tasted everything the city has to offer, crossing to the mainland is as easy as catching a plane, train, or ferry. London is a major European travel hub, and intimately connected to every major city and location on the continent. Whether you want to see the big names, like Paris or the Netherlands, or you'd rather skip off the beaten track and check out Riga or Luxembourg, everywhere is at your fingertips on the weekends you're not traveling for class.

The Missouri School of Journalism attempts to make the costs of studying abroad affordable for you. Generally, study abroad experiences cost a bit more than a summer semester completed on-campus at MU. However, a summer abroad includes new experiences, cultures, languages, and an opportunity to explore the world as an international student. It is highly recommended that students outline a budget that considers what they might spend during the program. Students on this program pay MU educational fees (6 credits) as though taking classes on campus for the summer. The cost of the trip includes international travel, ground transportation, lodging, mandatory insurance, and an MU Study Abroad fee, which is applied toward costs associated with orientation programs, administration, and staff assistance.
