What internship did you have and what were your responsibilities?
I had the chance to do the New York Program twice, interning for NBC both times. The first time was for the "Weekend TODAY Show," and the second time for CNBC's "Squawk Box;" both times as a production intern. I helped write short segments, research and pitch stories, make graphics, log interviews, just about anything necessary to get a show or story on the air.
What did this experience teach you about yourself as a professional and as a person?
These experiences taught me more about myself than I could've ever imagined. I learned even if I go in not knowing how to do something, I'll figure it out. I went in as someone who was very safe and wanted to be as prepared as possible before taking on a task, and left a risk-taker.
How has this experience helped you in your professional career?
My internships taught me how to navigate the most intense, high-pressure newsrooms, and how to make myself an asset in any type of environment.
