How did this experience help you grow?
I would say this experience help me grow in the sense of giving me a general idea of the media industry, not just about journalism but also about Ad and PR. We've met a lot of professionals, and even seek out and interview some professionals ourselves, which I wouldn't do otherwise. I am a documentary major and I've interviewed two documentary filmmakers during the time. It helps me to understand what it means to be a filmmaker in NY.
What makes the New York Program a good option for graduate students?
Being in NY forced me to get out my comfort zone. For grad students specifically, I think NY is a great place for research. There are so many resources here. You can find a lot of things in those public libraries. For documentary grad students, it’s worth to come even just for all those independent movie theaters, let alone the exhibitions and film fests.
